The words the records use.

Identity, time, and place are easy to collapse into one column. The design keeps them apart. Definitions here are the working ones. The glossary repeats them in a form you can search.

A listing is an offer. A pack is not a quantity.

mfr_corvane makes a family, fam_strata_p5, under brand brd_strata. itm_ssd_p5_1t and itm_ssd_p5_1t_hs are two variants because the heatsink is identity. mer_halden can sell a listing on src_halden_us without becoming the manufacturer. lst_lum_p5_1t_hs is one URL. Correcting that listing’s mapping changes which item it references. It does not merge the two variants. Its stock is a pool on that listing at one observed_at, not a property of every seller of the variant.

On the fictional Pantry & Pour feed, lst_pp_ridge_500 maps to itm_ridgeline_500g and lst_pp_ridge_2x250 maps to itm_ridgeline_2x250g. The design refuses to treat the pack as two notes on the 500 g item. cw_pantrypour_feed is the collector fixture for that feed, using pa_shopfeed_json@1.1.0 and profile np_coffee. Classes cls_storage_ssd and cls_coffee_beans are the two fixture categories. None of these names were fetched from a live shop.

Status. Established domain model in the design. Geography handling is proposed. All names below are fictional fixtures.

Three clocks

  • Observed time is when the source was seen. Replay does not move it.
  • Processing time is when a receipt, decision, or apply happened.
  • Freshness asks whether that observation is still fit for a ranking. Stale can be kept and warned.

Four geographies

Execution region is where the process runs. Outbound geography is where the request leaves. Storefront market is which shop the listing is from. Shipping destination is where the buyer wants the parcel. ci_halden_fra_01 can run in Frankfurt, egress from Germany, and still collect the US storefront src_halden_us. A Nevada destination is a fourth fact. Mixing any two of these is how a confident wrong shipping answer appears.

Unknown is an answer

pol_halden_us_shipping is a fictional policy. If no policy is on file, eligibility is unknown. It is not “free” and it is not “unavailable.” Northfield, mer_northfield, can be stale: the evidence stays, the warning stays, and a definitive ranking skips it. Halden to Nevada without a postcode leaves eligibility, free shipping, and cost unknown. Halden’s German storefront, src_halden_de, can be eligible while the free-shipping terms and the cost are still unknown. Those outcomes are independent. Stale Northfield evidence does not produce the German result.

Tenant and catalog

ten_primary and cat_primary are the proposed pair for this fixture. ADR-008 proposes tenant-private catalogs. A shared catalog with overlays is written down as a future alternative, not as the current design. Registration cannot choose a different tenant. Sources outside the grant are denied.

Decision, event, outbox, projection

A decision changes resolver facts. The outbox records the event in that same transaction. The product projection changes only when it applies the event. Replay re-reads evidence. Rebuild re-reads events. They are not substitutes.
